glidefree™Transfer Board Strips with ShearBan® Technology
GlideFree™ transfer board strips with ShearBan® Technology create a low-friction surface on any transfer device, allowing the user to move from one surface to another without the risk of skin damage.
ShearBan® Technology was introduced in 1998 to provide relief from hot spots, blisters and other skin trauma to orthotic & prosthetic users. The same friction management technology is incorporated into Tamarack's GlideFree™ transfer board strips, providing wheelchair users and healthcare professionals peace-of-mind during transfers.
GlideFree™ is available in 1" wide by 34" long strips. Simply lay the strips over transfer board to determine the proper length (cut length to approximately 1" to 2" beyond board surface) and width (1/2" to ¾" spacing). Peel protective backing away and apply from one end to the other. Press firmly over entire surface to ensure a strong bond between transfer board and GlideFree™ strips.
Installation Steps
- Ensure your transfer board is clean, using an alcohol prep pad or soap & water, before applying Glidefree™ Strips.
- Begin applying Glidefree™ strips, working from the outside edges of the board in toward the middle.
- If your transfer board has hand holes, apply strips over the top, then slice and wrap around the back side of the board.
- Once all strips have been installed, your transfer board is ready to use.
